Being a part of this project really helped us a lot in so many ways and
felt like our contribution toward the community was well received. On 20th of
July our efforts came to an end when we organized the picnic were we were going
to promote our event and the most precious thing of the week: the bikes.
Our people from Croatia, Poland,
Czech Republic and Romania came prepared with traditional food from their
country being a very nice surprise for the locals. They were so excited that
they even took some recipes of our traditional food. We also made a barbecue,
we cooked some meet and some vegetables as well for all kinds of taste. The
villagers’ enthusiasm and their eagerness to get involved in all our activities
was a wonderful surprise for us as well. We had a fun interactive day filled
with activities for our youngster participants and for the much older ones
including living library, water fights, ‘kompot pong’, ‘fishing apples’, ‘fruit
salad’ and so on.
Our most popular
activities were international dancing where locals were thrilled to learn about
traditional songs and dances. Forest expedition was a team work which created
even bigger bond between us and the people from Motycz Leśny. Everything ended
up to be a really successful afternoon with the most amazing gift from the kids
who started to speak English in order to express their joyfulness with us. It
was an awesome day for us, for our new repaired babies that now belong to the
community and for the participants as well.
We continued with the
usual amazingly tasty dishes which are surprising us every day. After our lunch
we took very necessary break for our round bellies. After a perfect afternoon
we went to evaluate event from organizers’ point of view. We then discovered
that we had really active audience that enjoyed all the funny surprises we had
prepared for them.
We needed to get
productive so we sat and thought about some more activities. Then we came with
the idea of an Oxford Debate. Since we had to use a more professional approach,
it took us a few hours to prepare our topics. The moment came and we decided to
choose two different subjects. A fun one “Women in the kitchen, men bonfire”
and more serious one “It is ok to lie”. We had a laugh but also discovered some
interesting facts. The night was concluded in a chilled manner with a beer and
great music.
Thank you so much Motycz
Leśny for this wonderful memory!
